Re: Is it arrogance, ignorance or fear?

woensdag 10 juni 2009 19:12

Readers might remember that it was mentioned in various topics that the BDFI (Ballroom Dancers Federation International) had invited both the WDC and the IDSF to attend their AGM at Blackpool and explain their vision for the future.  It was hoped that this would be a constructive step for the future.   The BDFI represents Professionals from many countries and many associations including IPDSC.

The WDC accepted the invitation and attended.  The IDSF made absolutely no response at all and failed to show.  Clearly the IDSF have little interest in what is good for dancesport.  Is it arrogance, ignorance or great fear that leads them to behave this way?  They even lacked the grace to simply decline.

In case anyone wishes to read a little more see here the UK based Ballroom Dancers Federation have issued a Press Release http://www.bdfonline.info/news_detail.php?news_id=118

The one line in this Press Release that to me is a total nonsense  is

Most people, who support the open market, were also supporting the IDSF by holding IDSF licenses

How can anyone who believes in the Open Market support IDSF who are totally opposed to this and forbid these same people to adjudicate many events?

Re: IDSF fail dancers everywhere

That the IDSF were so rude to simply ignore the BDFI invitation and fail to attend a meeting of people desperate for information is a very clear indication that IDSF care nothing about dance competitors and their feelings.   Make no mistake in BDFI there are people who WERE IPDSC and IDSF supporters.  Now they are having to re-evaluate their position as IDSF showed their lack of interest in them.

IDSF failed totally to show consideration for competitors and adjudicators worldwide.

Shame on them.

4OBSERVER,

Sambatogo agrees with your statements. But are surprised you and those who you talk about who supported IPDSC and IDSF did not know this before? As this is certainly nothing new. But eventually the facts come around to everyone. It is just if they want to see it or not.

sambatogo.  It is a good job you are not Sherlock Holmes!!

How did you deduce I did not know this before?  I have known the situation for a long time.

The IPDSC and IDSF supporters in the BDFI now have some tough decisions to make.

Then again maybe not - if they had not got the message before they probably still will not.

I was pleased to find this forum and see that people are being given the facts - now it depends if the Amateur Dancers can accept they are unimportant to the IDSF and to be used rather than served.
