Sergey Sourkov and Mela retire from competitions

The last night in Blackpool, the night of Professional Latin final, was special for yet another reason. After a fabulous final round Sergey Sourkov and Mela announced their retirement from competitive dancing. They were multiple times Russian champions, Polish champions, finalists of the World Championships and all the big major international competitions such as Blackpool Festival, UK Open, the International. See more results. Sergey and Mela are much loved and much admired couple and will be truly missed by hundreds of fans. They said their "Good byes" with their signature Rumba.
They said:
In such a moment, words cannot express how we feel about this extraordinary journey coming to the end... Our life is breathing our dancing!!
We were both extremely lucky to meet on our way fabulous teachers, kind friends, amazing audiences and we are so very thankful for that...
Through tears and laughter, sadness and joy- we have experienced some beautiful moments in our career. Gabriel Garcia Marquez wrote: "What matters in life is not what happens to you but what you remember and how you remember it"
We leave this magical floor with no regret's... we will remember all those memories created here and for this we are very grateful... thank you!!
